In 2020, SiCM served 300 families a week at our Food Pantry and a total of 454,000 meals in our community, indicating the challenge of hunger in the County continues. SiCM needs your help to ensure we can continue our efforts. Here are a few ways YOU can support your favorite football team on Souper Bowl Sunday while making a difference in the community.
Souper Bowl Activities:
- Display canisters in your church or business so members or patrons can contribute throughout the weeks leading up to the game
- Make it a Competition - which team and faith group or business can raise the most funds
- Ask for a donation based on the total cost of what a Super Bowl party would have been or break it down by per person
- Host a “football bake sale” of snacks served at a Super Bowl Party and ask for cash donations
- Hot Soup - During a social hour, serve soup on Souper Bowl Sunday and ask for cash donations
- Ask people to bring a can of soup and make a cash donation
A SiCM staff member can drop the canisters off to you. Cans of soups can be donated to SiCM’s Pantry as well.
SiCM purchases food from the Northeastern Regional Food Bank for $.16 per pound, so monetary donations go a long way toward providing food for those in need. Thank you for your contribution!
